One hundred years of fashion in Ukraine: from Ukrainian Revolution until Independence Day - lecture by Zoya Zvynyatskivska

Zoya  Zvynyatskivska will deliver a lecture under the topic “One hundred years of fashion in Ukraine: from Ukrainian Revolution until Independence Day” - March 27th, 14.00, IHUB Lviv (9, Zamknena str).

Zoya  Zvynyatskivska has mastered as an Art expert being equally proficient as a historian of fashion, commentator, journalist and specialist in culture studies. She witnessed origins of Ukrainian fashion industry and fashion analytic institution. As a Director of the Ukrainian Fashion Museum, she became the first Top 10 fashion-editor. She also started personal lecture course within the cultural project "History of Fashion of the Twentieth century."

Fashion is seeing as a prism which traces changes in the socio-cultural integrity. Zoya Zvynyatskivska reviews the history of last century, to indicate changes that occur in the individuals followed by reformation of social and cultural stratum. Fashion is regarded not as yet another sign system expressing certain understanding and vision, but it is presented in a dimensional plane as capable to reveal an individual aspiration to understand the world. Zoya Zvynyatskivska combines art history, cultural studies and social psychology as a comprehensive science in order to trace the origins, formation and development of the Ukrainian fashion during the twentieth century.
