As part of the collaboration with the Lviv National Academy of Arts, this season’s Lviv Fashion Week will feature an exhibition of contemporary three-dimensional art titled “This Is Not It.” The exhibition brings together works by lecturers and graduates of the Academy. It invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the world of sculpture, where material and form engage in dialogue with space, and classical notions of sculpture are challenged.
But this is not it.
Stone, ceramics, glass - each material here has its own voice and weight, yet together they create a world that feels both familiar and alien.
But this is not it.
A sculpture that appears obvious at first glance turns out to be something more - deeper, more complex, sometimes even the opposite of what it seems. It’s a play on perception - of material, form, and meaning: each piece is not what it seems to be, carrying within it the potential to reveal a new dimension of experience.
But this is not it.
The exhibition explores three key dimensions: The Archaic - the primal, raw energy of material; The Plastic - flexibility of form, movement, and transformation in space; The Contemporary - a new vision of sculpture and its place in the present moment.
But this is not it.
Together, they create an experience that compels the viewer to reconsider their own understanding of sculpture - what is form, what is meaning, and what is merely a reflection of our perception. “This Is Not It” is both a challenge and an invitation - to dialogue, discovery, and a deeper look beyond the surface.
But this is not it.
